Panel 2: TBH, a typical Emp VORPP would've sent that piece of "HOLOHOSTAGE" hardware flying, which would've made for a much trickier "reveal" sequence. Then again, her supersuit is capable of producing narrower-focus VORPPs, though I've only indirectly addressed that capacity by an image on the cover of Empowered vol.6. (Alternatively, the HOLOHOSTAGE device might be anchored to the deck by some means.)

Panels 6-7: Even though the rendering is quite hard on my perpetually ailing drawing hand, I've always liked depicting that particular form of texture and shading on nonhuman characters. (For example, I quite liked rendering Jabba the Hutt on the covers that my buddy Joe Wight and I did lo these many years ago for the English translation of the Star Wars: Return of the Jedi manga adaptation.)

Today’s Patreon update: Originally done as a means of scratching out more worktime to complete the long-gestating Empowered vol. 12, I've switched over to a Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday Patreon posting schedule that won't feature the fixed content format I previously used. So, who knows what today's post might feature? Could be Life Drawing or Distressed Damsels content (both of which are featured at least three times per month), or something in the Work Stages, Vintage Con Sketches or Design departments, or possibly something entirely new.
