Panel 1: I vaguely recall a webcomics comment from quite a few years ago sourly querying why the heck Emp's feet were so often depicted in a "toes pointed forward" position like this during "damsel in distress" scenes along these lines. The answer, of course, is this: Because it looks good, dummy! If I can find a pose in which Emp's g-d feet actually appear at least semi-okay as opposed to looking like ungainly, unsightly "meat clubs"—as is all too often the case in life drawing and elsewhere—then you'd best believe I'm gonna repeat the hell outta said pose.
