Panel 2: An early appearance of edgelighting in this shot of Thugboy, though I didn't start working this angle very often until I (re)started up life drawing practice a few years ago. For the record, I did because A) the shading and/or lighting patterns I was using in my artwork struck me as repetitive, unimaginative, and insufficiently striking; and B) gaps in my admittedly incomplete grasp of human anatomy had really begun to bug me.

Panel 3: Folks, if I had more time and energy this morning, I'd track down webcomic links to each of the Emp iterations depicted in this panel but, ehh, screw that. You're on your own, I'm afraid.

Today’s Patreon Update: As I did last month, I'm taking off the third week of April from putting up new Patreon content, as I just can't keep up an every-weekday post schedule while struggling to make progress on Empowered vol.12. However, my vast archive of years of Patreon posts—extensive Empowered previews, vintage con sketches, work stages on covers, "damsel in distress" commissions, life drawings & much, much more—remains available for Patrons' perusal.
