I'm honestly not all that fond of grid-based layouts like this page's 2X2 dealie, but they do come in handy on occasion. Grid layouts are, for the most part, rarely seen in manga, but I have no compunctions about using 'em in my own work, as Western readers are familiar with 'em. (A recent volume of the manga Komi Can't Communicate actually featured some "true grids", as opposed to the 1X4 "panoramic-panel stack" used for most of the pages, but with comically messed-up results.)

Panel 4: I'm honestly amazed that I haven't accidentally switched Plutonium Blonde's severed left arm for her right, as I have historically been prone to flopping such left/right placements. (See Kei's flip-flopping leg cast in 1995's Dirty Pair: Fatal But Not Serious, which a theoretically well-meaning editor elected to have an inker "correct" without informing me first, which I did not appreciate one bit.)

Panel 4: TMI about hapless male Superdead? "Mayhap so," as the Demonwolf would put it.
