Panels 1-2: Behold the L-shaped panel motif, which (as I've often noted) I cribbed from Frank Thorne's hyperdense page layouts for the 70s Marvel Red Sonja comic.

Also, holy crap is the "Lollipop Head Figure Proportions Alert" in effect for this whimsically stylized shot of Ninjette. For the record, this isn't a withering artistic criticism of Eight Years Ago Me or a display of low self-esteem or grenade-fishing for compliments; I'm just pointing out that my preference in various stylistic riffs and artistic approaches has shifted over time, which I think is a good thing.

Next week, we jump right back into the present-day climactic action as Ninjette battles the final trio of Ayakami ninja. Don't think it's a major SPOILER to hint that things get pretty g-d rough for our "good and solidly buzzed" heroine.
