Panel 1: While I can still (mostly) recite pp.167-8’s climactic Demonwolf soliloquy from memory, that doesn’t include the list of adjectives he rattles off in his second word balloon here.
Also, technically speaking, Ninjette’s placed too far forward in her unseen bathtub in relation to the Blazing-Eyed Devilgoat on the throne, but that’s a tweak I felt I had to use in order to make this SketchUp 3D model’s particular screenshot work. The seemingly endless minor shifts and repositionings I had to make to the model’s camera in order to get multiple elements into a shot proved to be the main difficulty in using a 3D model for background reference; that, and the recurring necessity to tweak the camera’s focal length in order to fend off the constant threat of “fish-eye lens”-style distortions around the edges of shots.
Panel 2: And that’s the last time we'll see that SketchUp model of Emp’s bathroom, folks! (Er, unless I revisit it in the upcoming Empowered vol. 12, that is.)
Panel 4: So close, so close—but adding that second word balloon at the bottom of the panel makes me wanna sound the dreaded Overdialoguing Alert. Given the importance of this scene, I really should’ve added more pagecount so as to avoid text-density pile-ups like this one. Pretty sure, though, that by this point Decade-Ago Me was thinking, “Gotta wrap this up! Wrap it up, now!”
