Panel 4: Ouch!

Panel 5: Serious ouches!

Panel 6: Note that the stack of pallets and boxes looming in the background was traced from a printout generated by the 3D SketchUp model of the warehouse setting that my bud Ryan Kinnaird made for me. Weirdly, as I’ve noted before, that model didn’t necessarily save me all that much time over figuring out the perspective by hand, due to the rather drawn-out and laborious process of how I used it, as follows:

I would have to maneuver the SketchUp camera to a usable angle, zoom in to get the right image size, export a screen shot to Photoshop, then use trial and error to print out the image at a viable size for the panel in question before finally tracing off the model onto paper and tightening up the drawing. Such a protracted work process might actually have taken longer than conventional perspective drawing, but did have the noted advantage of being far less stressful, as I often find heavy-duty technical construction to be a maddeningly harrowing and frustrating experience.

So whats going on atop that pile of warehouse pallets and boxes, webcomics readers? Find out tomorrow!
