Panel 4: I’d forgotten that I used to overlap the double Os in sound FX like “WHOOSH” to have a little lettering space. Might have to try that out again in current Empowered pages, as Lord knows that “WHOOSH” certainly reappears on a regular basis during vol. 11's many, many fight scenes.

Panel 5: I don’t think the use of the wee cartoony Ninjette head inside her word balloon, here, would be well-suited to a wholly serious depiction of Emp in genuine peril. So, SPOILER ALERT, Emp is probably not about to be killed in this sequence. Or am I faking newbie readers out? Let’s find out tomorrow, folks!
