Panel 5: I’m happy to report that, after the upcoming Empowered vol. 11, Thugboy’s Ruger P89 semiautomatic will finally, belatedly bow out of the series. As I’ve noted before, the damn thing is, shall we say, easily referenced—if you catch my drift—but is nonetheless maddeningly difficult to draw, thanks to its manifold bevels, scallops, angles and odd details. This is akin, in a way, to the similarly challenging fuselage of a Star Wars X-Wing, which is the tapering and sloping worst. (Besides, the Y-Wing is a better design, IMHO, not that all the X-Wing-brainwashed sheep out there ever notice. Then again, when I mentioned this heretical opinion on Twitter a while back, some obvious lunatic chimed in that Return of the Jedi’s B-Wing was Best Fighter. Dude, the B-Wing? Seriously?)
