Panel 2: Note that dWARf! did indeed mention the timeframe of his post-Fleshmaster superheroic debut earlier.

Panel 5: The “silent reaction shot,” as seen here, is something I first picked up from Tetsuro Ueyama’s beautifully drawn but super-obscure manga Solevision Mitsuyoshi. The brief series was never translated over here (even as a fansub, AFAIK), but has a bit of a cult following among comic artists.
