Panel 3: Dr. Big McLarge Huge laid low! Or laid small, at least.
Honestly
can’t remember if the übernurse, here, was supposed to have been
female-appearing in powered form, or if I’d forgotten that the male
nurses were supposed to wear shorts instead of microskirts. (The
microskirts should, in fact, have been standard uniform for all nurses, just because that’s more colorful and entertaining. Missed opportunity!) Note that the issue of what the übernurses might really look like was obliquely addressed earlier in this volume, in panels 3-4 here.
Also, nitpicking-oriented readers will note that the head of Phallik’s spear changes a fair deal over time. As seen later on in the series, when drawing the g-d thing, I plumb forgot to check back on what, exactly, it was supposed to look like. Oh, well.
Panel 4: As mentioned back in p.157’s commentary, the fella with the “A2Z” logo on his mask did indeed turn out to be a (very) minor plot point, as shown by him whining about the loss of his “alphabet powers.” Gotta say, that’s a potentially amusing concept for a superhero; I like the idea that almost all of his letter-based powers are whimsically colorful but practically useless, save for a few key abilities.
