Panel 1: My assumption, here, would be that Emp picked up her awareness of Chow Yun Fat’s two-gun style due to Thugboy watching many a John Woo movie—or possibly a Ringo Lam movie or two, given that 1992’s Full Contact is, I feel, a key entree in the Chow Yun Fat oeuvre. (Note that italicizing the word “oeuvre” maximizes a writer’s pretentiousness with a certain je ne sais quoi.) I must confess that, shockingly, I never cared much for the universally beloved Hard Boiled, normally considered the highlight of the Woo/ Chow collaborations; rather, I prefer Contact or The Killer, or possibly even A Better Tomorrow 2, if only for its spectacular climactic shootout.

Panel 6: Note Emp grabbing Ninjette’s behind—or “toothsome rump,” per the Caged Demonwolf. This bit of inebriated forwardness gets mentioned again a few pages later.
