Panel 1: This chain-wrapping attack may, in fact, be a reference to a similar chain-based action riff from the story in which Ninjette and Emp first met, waaaaay back in Empowered vol. 1. Safe to say, however, that Dogwalking Ninja’s intentions towards her prey are rather more sinister than those that ’Jette held towards Emp in that older story. 

Panel 2: Rare montage-ish action scene within one panel, as opposed to the separate-panel approach I more customarily take. And yes, nitpicking geeks, the chains seemingly locked in place around Ninjette’s wrists are an example of the Instant Knots trope. Then again, perhaps the Dogwalker Ninja is employing some form of esoteric ninja magic to remotely secure those chains.
