Panel 1: Unfortunately for poor Emp, unlike Crossword Mook, the mysterious pair of baddies waylaying her seem to have better ideas about how a more functional form of gag would work. 

Note that, in the previous installment, we saw the sound FX "KCHAK" immediately before this image, implying that the door that Emp's captors sprang out from was closed before they attacked, with KCHAK being the sound of said door opening. The question is, if the door was closed, how did they know Emp was passing by? Possible No-Prize explanation: They had some form of camera (or other type of sensor) deployed to track her whereabouts. In fact, that seems far more reasonable than the idea of the Bad Guys lurking near a partially opened door for hours, peering out through the cracked-open door to watch for Emp.

Panel 4: Not fond of the wonkiness of the drawing depicting Emp’s left hand grabbed by Orderly Goon (or Goon Orderly, if you prefer). Then again, folks, hands and fingers are difficult indeed to draw—maybe not quite as tricky as feet and toes, but still pretty damn challenging. 

And yeahp, in case you’ve forgotten, lurking in the background is the Bescrubbed Woman seen in passing earlier in the story. Perhaps she had reasons to frown at Emp that our hapless heroine didn’t anticipate…? Perhaps so!
