Panel 2: Oof! 2006-Era Me quite frankly tanked the close-up of Emp in this panel, to the point that I briefly considered pasting in a different Emp drawing in place of this wonky-ass image. Oh, well.
Panel 3: I do like the slightly ambitious concept of the single background extending across an entire tier of panels, with Emp’s figure moving across the page from panel to panel. Unfortunately, 2006-Era Me bungled matters once again, and placed Emp’s figure too low in this panel; if you look across to the door beside her, she appears way too small, as that doorknob—and the top of the door—would be anomalously high in relation to her. Oh, well.
Panel 5: Note that Emp’s head is much higher in relation to the top of that door in the background than was the case in panel 3. Perspective can get kinda tricky, folks! Then again, 2006-Era Me was kinda asking for trouble by employing one-point perspective on this shot, which can easily spiral out of control.
Panel 6: Say, what’s up with that ominous “KCHAK” sound FX at the bottom of the panel? Find out tomorrow, folks! (Actually, there’s a notable problem with the use of “KCHAK,” but we’ll take a look at this in more detail in our next installment.)
