Panel 3: Uh oh!

Unrelated to the narrative content of this week's pages, time for some arguably Emp-style metacommentary on the topic of the very commentaries I write for this webcomic serialization!

For the record, I don't make very much money off the webcomic serialization of Empowered; the hour or so per week it takes me to format and schedule five days worth of comics prrrrrrobably breaks even in terms of a cost-effective use of my precious and sadly limited worktime, but the additional hour or more per week I spend writing these commentaries is quite clearly not a cost-effective use of my time. (I occasionally try to knock these commentaries off in 30 minutes or less, but that rarely works out.)

At one time I had hoped that the webcomic would become profitable on its own without, say, extensive "merch" options or the like, but that naive hope has long since proved unfounded. Nowadays, I continue this serialization mainly because I find it neat to see page-by-page reader reaction on long-ago-published content that never received much in the way of detailed feedback in its Original Graphic Novel form. 

More on this matter tomorrow, folks, as I just burned 20-odd minutes writing today's commentary! (Ouch.)

Today’s Patreon update: Originally done as a means of scratching out more worktime to complete the long-gestating Empowered vol. 12, I've switched over to a Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday Patreon posting schedule that won't feature the fixed content format I previously used. So, who knows what today's post might feature? Could be Life Drawing or Distressed Damsels content (both of which are featured at least three times per month), or something in the Work Stages, Vintage Con Sketches or Design departments, or possibly something entirely new, such as updates on fantasy test project The Chaste and the Chained. Golly!
