UPDATE: No idea what the hell's going on with the comments, which seem to be inaccessible (to me, at least); will bug Hiveworks about the issue.
IIRC, this page was added much later on in the book's production to both clarify A) why the karaoke space didn't flood; and B) to pop in a Lotus Node portal to set up a later plot point or two. Such are the (admittedly scant and few) advantages of working in a "straight-to-trade-paperback" graphic novel format, as opposed to a far more pagecount-constrained monthly "floppy" format.
Next week on the webcomic serialization, you'll soon find out where the heck panel 2's "there" refers to. Yay? Also, if I get the chance next week, I might blither on a bit about recent developments in the—ahem—"state of my art," in both digital and analog media. Yay, once more?
Today’s Patreon update: Originally done as a means of scratching out
more worktime to complete the long-gestating Empowered vol. 12,
I've switched over to a Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday Patreon posting schedule that
won't feature the fixed content format I previously used. So, who knows what
today's post might feature? Could be Life Drawing or Distressed
Damsels content (both of which are featured at least three times per
month), or something in the Work Stages, Vintage Con Sketches or Design
departments, or possibly something entirely new, such as updates on
fantasy test project The Chaste and the Chained. Golly!
