Panel 3: Probably one of the best rendering approaches I ever used to depict Neurospear, though you won't be seeing this again very often due to the amount of background work required to set up the shot. A simple upshot of the character against the night sky, by contrast, took only a fraction as much worktime—as seen in panel 6, which likely required little over over 10-15 minutes of drawing.

Panel 6: Speaking of which, pardon the somewhat crappily inked hair on the lad, as I hadn't yet elected to emulate the really interesting hair riffs used by the artist Boichi in his manga Sun-Ken Rock; more on this matter later when those visual riffs appear here.

Today’s Patreon update: Originally done as a means of scratching out more worktime to complete the long-gestating Empowered vol. 12, I've switched over to a Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday Patreon posting schedule that won't feature the fixed content format I previously used. So, who knows what today's post might feature? Could be Life Drawing or Distressed Damsels content (both of which are featured at least three times per month), or something in the Work Stages, Vintage Con Sketches or Design departments, or possibly something entirely new, such as updates on fantasy test project The Chaste and the Chained.
