Volume 11 Page 26

Panel 1: Dig that suh-weet high-contrast urban backdrop, which is a visual riff borrowed from a few panels in the manga Air Gear by Oh! Great. I loved the look of this background, but given how g-d difficult this effect was to achieve via analog media, I featured it only once or twice more throughout the remaining 200-odd pages of the book. (Note that this effect would be much easier to carry out digitally, so mayhap you'll see this riff again in future projects drawn in Clip Studio Paint, in the optimistic assumption that I ever get a viable digital workflow figured out.)

Next week on the webcomic serialization, we're about to hit a very, very significant page in the long grind of producing Empowered vol. 11, with a consequence that's all too g-d relevant in the present day. Stay tuned, dear readers!

Today’s Patreon update: Originally done as a means of scratching out more worktime to complete the long-gestating Empowered vol. 12, I've switched over to a Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday Patreon posting schedule that won't feature the fixed content format I previously used. So, who knows what today's post might feature? Could be Life Drawing or Distressed Damsels content (both of which are featured at least three times per month), or something in the Work Stages, Vintage Con Sketches or Design departments, or possibly something entirely new, such as updates on fantasy test project The Chaste and the Chained. Golly!
