This final page is, of course, a visual callback to the final page of Empowered vol. 5, in which Emp was depicted comforting a shattered Spooky. A mere six volumes and 1200-odd pages later, the tables have turned!

And lo, thus does the epic saga of Empowered vol. 11 finally reach its end. As far as I'm concerned, this volume was pretty much my greatest achievement as an artist and writer, but notice the very particular order of that superlative; I've written more emotionally wrenching Empowered stories, certainly, but they were nowhere near as well drawn as this one, thanks mostly to the spate of life drawing I'd done in the years before. (In the long run, leveling up my artwork quality was a disastrous choice in terms of productivity, but I'll address that later.)
