Dunno if the effect would've "sped up" this sequence's storytelling, but I definitely should've considered heavily overlapping many of this page's sound FX across multiple panels to aid in the narrative flow. FUPP FUPP FUPP extending into the previous panel might've been nice; a much larger KREEEEK extending well into panel 5 would certainly have been a better idea.

Interestingly enough, I probably should've left off one of the sound FX in panel 6, as having two separate FX for the reader to peruse does arguably slow things down a tad.

Next week on the webcomic serialization, the vehicular mayhem wraps up as Empowered vol. 11's urban action quite literally scales new (or new-ish) heights!

Today’s Patreon update: Originally done as a means of scratching out more worktime to complete the long-gestating Empowered vol. 12, I've switched over to a Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday Patreon posting schedule that won't feature the fixed content format I previously used. So, who knows what today's post might feature? Could be Life Drawing or Distressed Damsels content (both of which are featured at least three times per month), or something in the Work Stages, Vintage Con Sketches or Design departments, or possibly something entirely new, such as updates on fantasy test project The Chaste and the Chained.
