Panel 2: "Sunovabitch" being a vernacular modification of "son of a bitch" that dates back to my 70s childhood, when I saw that semi-contraction all the time in novels I was reading back then. Note that I started reading so-called "adult novels" young (probably starting with Benchley's Jaws in 1974, when I would've been age 6 or so) because, yikes, was "kidlit" ever a g-d wasteland in the 70s. Only so many g-d times one could read The Monster at the End of This Book, okay?
