Panel 3: And lo, it's the Fantasy Flamingo, first introduced in a scene four volumes ago!

In retrospect, dunno about my vol. 6 choice of depicting ol' FF's show as being hosted on a frickin' AM radio station; this probably would've been based on the AM sports-talk behemoth WFAN out of New York, but still seems a bit odd, given that I've spent almost all of my workdays over the last 20-odd years listening to a pair of FM sports-talk stations based in Boston. (I'm not really a diehard, "rah-rah" sports fan as such, but I've effectively trained myself to appreciate or at least understand pro sports chatter so I'd have something to listen to all day.)

Panel 4: With this panel's caption, note an early use of "text inverted to white-on-black in Photoshop," a trick which works oddly well to disguise how crappy my lettering can get. Dunno why, but I love the look of inverted type like this; no idea if readers agree but, hey, I have to roll with whatever appeals to me as the comic's "first reader."

Today’s Patreon update: Originally done as a means of scratching out more worktime to complete the long-gestating Empowered vol. 12, I've switched over to a Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday Patreon posting schedule that won't feature the fixed content format I previously used. So, who knows what today's post might feature? Could be Life Drawing or Distressed Damsels content (both of which are featured at least three times per month), or something in the Work Stages, Vintage Con Sketches or Design departments, or possibly something entirely new. Golly!
