Panel 1: Gotta admit, using a panoramic panel like this one for an image of striking violence often poses challenges of, well, "sequencing" in how the action flows across the page. In retrospect, I'm none too thrilled by the placement of that "WHOKK" sound FX at far right, as it effectively reads as taking place after the impact, which is obviously less than ideal action storytelling. I believe Past Me would've been better off leaving out that "impact flash" effect entirely and placing WHOKK in its center position in the panel, while moving Emp's figure to the right to make room. (Then again, the issue of which direction Emp's head should've been facing after the club's impact as she's flung off the roof clearly posed its own storytelling challenges.)

Next week on the webcomic, stand by for one more li'l surprise as Empowered vol. 10 wraps up and we head into the non-stop onslaught of superpowered mayhem delivered by vol. 11's epic, single-chapter narrative.

Today’s Patreon update: Originally done as a means of scratching out more worktime to complete the long-gestating Empowered vol. 12, I've switched over to a Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday Patreon posting schedule that won't feature the fixed content format I previously used.
