As I've noted before, I'm no big fan of grid-based page layouts like this one, as I find them inherently too static and, more bluntly, just plain boring. (And let us not speak of the Very, Very Serious Comic Writer's Favorite Toy, the 9-panel grid, a perpetually lingering curse accidentally unleashed upon the American comics field by Dave Gibbons in Watchmen.) OTOH, such grids are pretty handy for churning through extended dialogue scenes like this one.

Panel 3: Worry not, dear readers, as this slightly cryptic statement by Emp will be clarified during one of the (very) few mayhem-intensive scenes in the fast-approaching Empowered vol. 11.
