We continue serialization of 2013's one-shot Empowered: Nine Beers with Ninjette (as collected in the anthology volume Empowered Unchained), featuring sweet B&W art by Guest Artist Takeshi Miyazawa and lettering by Susie Lee.

Panel 2: Here, in this episode's final few pages, we begin to see the rather tragic punchline to this Kozue story (and the entire point of the narrative).

Also, I really love the forlorn expression Takeshi drew on Kozue's face in this shot as she admits something that is (almost) never spoken of in the rest of the series up to this point in the narrative.

Today’s Patreon update: Originally done as a means of scratching out more worktime to complete the long-gestating Empowered vol. 12, I've switched over to a Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday Patreon posting schedule that won't feature the fixed content format I previously used. So, who knows what today's post might feature? Could be Life Drawing or Distressed Damsels content (both of which are featured at least three times per month), or something in the Work Stages, Vintage Con Sketches or Design departments, or possibly something entirely new, such as updates on fantasy test projects The Last Party and The Chaste and the Chained.
