We continue serialization of the collected version of the three-issue 2017 miniseries Empowered and the Soldier of Love, written and laid out by me and featuring full-color artwork by the Chilean webcomic artist Karla Diaz.
I think the M4A1-patterned "assault wand" was based on a fairly simplistic SketchUp model I sent Karla, but dang if I can find that now; for the AR-savvy, I suspect that might've been a simplified, low-poly ACOG sight mounted atop the model, maaaaybe with a pistol red dot sight atop the ACOG in turn, though these already vague details would've been lost when Karla drew linework over the SketchUp model.
Panel 2: A wee in-joke here is that the assault wand's business end is making the generic "inexplicable gun noise" so often heard in live-action and anime whenever a firearm is brandished. KCHAK!
Panel 3: I quite like this panel's Soldado close-up by Karla, BTW.
Today’s Patreon update: Originally done as a means of scratching out
more worktime to complete the long-gestating Empowered vol. 12,
I've switched over to a Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday Patreon posting schedule that
won't feature the fixed content format I previously used. So, who knows what
today's post might feature? Could be Life Drawing or Distressed
Damsels content (both of which are featured at least three times per
month), or something in the Work Stages, Vintage Con Sketches or Design
departments, or possibly something entirely new, such as updates on
fantasy test projects The Last Party and The Chaste
and the Chained. Golly!
