We continue serialization of the collected version of the three-issue 2017 miniseries Empowered and the Soldier of Love, written and laid out by me and featuring full-color artwork by the Chilean webcomic artist Karla Diaz.

Note that this three-page sequence introducing the titular Soldier of Love was written and laid out by me as a test sample for Karl's line art and coloring long before the rest of the project was worked up; needless to say, she did a bang-up job on the pages, allowing the project to be approved by Dark Horse for production.

Speaking of approval by Dark Horse Comics, I'm happy to say that another Empowered Deluxe Edition hardcover collecting vols. 10-12 has just been approved, along with a cheaper paperback Omnibus collecting the same volumes (which will follow some time later). Alas, we won't be seeing either for at least a year or more, as work has not yet begun on these collections. Still, good to hear!

Today’s Patreon update: Originally done as a means of scratching out more worktime to complete the long-gestating Empowered vol. 12, I've switched over to a Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday Patreon posting schedule that won't feature the fixed content format I previously used. However, my vast archive of years of Patreon posts—extensive Empowered previews, work-in-progress updates on developmental projects such as fantasy comics The Chaste and the Chained and The Last Party, vintage con sketches, work stages on covers, "damsel in distress" commissions, life drawings & much, much more—remains available for Patrons' perusal.
