We continue serialization of the collected version of the three-issue 2017 miniseries Empowered and the Soldier of Love, written and laid out by me and featuring full-color artwork by the Chilean webcomic artist Karla Diaz.

Panel 1: Note that letterer Nate "Blambot" Piekos was able to match his sound FX colors to Karla's own (visual) FX colors due to working from completed color files, which is not often the case nowadays, especially in perpetually time-crunched mainstream comics production; then again, the final issue of this miniseries wound up badly time-crunched itself, so we might not see such niceties again before long.

Update: As I can't seen to consistently post images of my work stages in these commentaries due to software shenanigans, I've started a series of Patreon posts featuring developmental content from Soldier of Love. First up is an open-to-the-public post covering character designs and our process for issue #1's cover, which you can check out here.

Today’s Patreon update: Originally done as a means of scratching out more worktime to complete the long-gestating Empowered vol. 12, I've switched over to a Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday Patreon posting schedule that won't feature the fixed content format I previously used. So, who knows what today's post might feature? Could be Life Drawing or Distressed Damsels content (both of which are featured at least three times per month), or something in the Work Stages, Vintage Con Sketches or Design departments, or possibly something entirely new, such as updates on fantasy test projects The Last Party and The Chaste and the Chained. Golly!
