We continue serialization of the collected version of the three-issue 2017 miniseries Empowered and the Soldier of Love, written and laid out by me and featuring full-color artwork by the Chilean webcomic artist Karla Diaz.

Panel 1: Karla's storm clouds worked out very nicely in this shot, gotta say. Note also that, because letterer Nate Piekos was working over color files, he was able to render his sound FX with color outlines that jibed nicely with the art; alas, much of the time letterers are forced to work over B&W line art due to deadline crunches (as the colorists are frantically grinding away in similar fashion), which of course wouldn't allow for such fine-tuning.

Today’s Patreon update: Originally done as a means of scratching out more worktime to complete the long-gestating Empowered vol. 12, I've switched over to a Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday Patreon posting schedule that won't feature the fixed content format I previously used.
